A little about me
My name is Tawnya; I am married for 6 years going on 7. I am a mother of 3 beautiful girls. Ages 9 (Leah), 6 (Emma), and 3 (Addy). I live in a small town. But looking to buy a new home in the country. I’ve grown up in a small country town where we have old dusty roads and farms everywhere. So I am a country girl at heart. Even had my share at work on a farm for a few years which I loved. I have always loved Natural colors and anything vintage its just how I grew up. I’ve always had a passion for crafting. Ever since I was a little girl, I was always doodling on something. School assignments, notebooks, I Even had my bedroom door and walls covered in graffiti and drawings. I remember art class being my favorite class in elementary school. Once I hit high school, I took a few advanced art classes. At a young age, I was taught by my grandmother how to crochet. My grandmother taught me all the basics. I remember making many chains some neckless, bracelets; I even tried to turn one into a dog leash for my grandmother’s dog. That one didn’t turn out so great. That poor dog was the best dog ever and put up with so much I did to her. I treated her like my baby. I mean latterly. I would dress her up and push her around. So really she got a royal treatment haha. I did however loose interest as a child. When I became pregnant with my second child in (2011-2012), it pecked my interest again. I then self-taught myself more advanced patterns/stitches. I attempted to teach myself to knit then too but became overwhelmed and pushed it to the side. It wasn’t until 2016 when I picked it back up again. I don’t know if it’s a fresh mind state or what but haven’t had any issue this time around. In 2015 I tried my hand at weaving. I was a baby wearing mama. I so badly wanted a handwoven wrap. I was going to buy one but let me just say wraps go anywhere from 500-1000. My pockets did not have the funds for that. I am all for supporting makers but just couldn’t afford it at the time. So I thought maybe I could teach myself to make my own. Let’s just say it never worked out the way I thought it was going to! So now I just have a table loom as a big giant paperweight haha! I love to paint and sketch from time to time. I even do some digital crafting as well. My sister (Heather from Mycreativeblog.com) was really into digital scrapbooking in. I remember on our family Vacation in (2007) I was so fascinated by how she did this I asked her to teach me. I learned how to use Photoshop that way. Let me just say photoshop and be very intimidating at first. I do a lot of photo editing through Photoshop and Lightroom. I am a self-taught armature photographer. I mainly just love taking pictures of my family, friends and of course my crafts. I am a woman of many talents. I even designed my logo for my blog here.
Not going to lie I tend to be a bit of a crochet snob. I have my favorite products and tools. My favorite yarn brand is (Hobby Lobby yarns, and Lion brand yarns. My favorite hook is the (Clover armor). My go-to stitch is an HDC- Half Double Crochet (us-terms). I just like how it works up quickly. As I start this journey into the blogging field, I’ll be sure to share my knowledge along the way. Be sure to find fun patterns along the way. I hope you all enjoy.
