I’m so excited to share with you my latest pattern. The farmers market crochet bag. This handbag has a beautiful texture to it. Picots are a neat way to add a pretty decorative touch to your stitches. Picots are generally made by the number of chains called for in the pattern.
The farmer’s market bag is an excellent bag for nearly anything. It’s perfect to be used as a farmers market bag, reusable grocery bag, yarn bag, even a beach bag. Endless of things it can be used for.
In this pattern, more I used both a 5mm (H) and 6mm (J) hook. The 5mm hook left the stitches tighter and not near as much stretch to it as the 6 mm hook. The 6mm hook was stretchier. So it simply comes down to how stretchy you would like your bag. Both bags work great. The bag in the pictures (white and tan) was made using the 6 mm to show how stretchy it looks.
Supplies:
Yarn- Hobby Lobby This Cotton in antique gold and white. (152 yards in total)
Hook 5 mm (H) or 6 mm (J)
Tapestry Needle
Abbreviations:
ch(’s)=chain(s), st(s)=stitch(es), sc= single crochet, hdc=half double crochet, sk=skip, rev= reverse single crochet
Notes:
The pattern is worked in rounds, rows and continuous rounds.
