Assembling

To start the assemble of the cardigan take your back panel and two side panels. Laying your back panel flat then. Now take the two side panels and lining it on top of the back panel. Making sure the side all lineups. Now using your tapestry needle and a spare piece of yarn or the tail. Start to sew the top of the panels to the back of the panels using the whip stitch. After the tops are sewn you will then sew the sides using the same technique as the tops. Sew each side from the bottom up using the same technique as the tops. Below are the instructions for the armhole length.

Sewing Instructions for sewing up the sides seams.

12m- up to row  (leaving about 3.5 inches for the sleeve on each side)

18m- up to row  (leaving about 4 inches for the sleeve on each side)

2t- up to row  (leaving about 4.25 inches for the sleeve on each side)

3t- up to row  (leaving about 4.5 inches for the sleeve on each side)

4t- up to row  (leaving about 5 inches for the sleeve on each side)

5t- up to row  (leaving about 5.25 inches for the sleeve on each side)

6y- up to row  (leaving about 5.5 inches for the sleeve on each side)

8y- up to row  (leaving about 6 inches for the sleeve on each side)

10y- up to row  (leaving about 6.25 inches for the sleeve on each side)

12y- up to row (leaving about 6.5 inches for the sleeve on each side)

Now on to the Sleeves

Taking your sleeve piece and fold it over. Using your tapestry needle and a spare piece of yarn or tail sew along the edge using the whip stitch. Do this on both sleeves

Once both sleeves are sewn you are ready to connect them to the body. Turn the Cardigan wrong side out. Turn the sleeves right side out. Then place the wider end of the sleeve in the armhole with the seam towards the bottom. You will sew along the very edges of the sleeve and the body armhole opening. Use a tapestry needle and piece of yarn to sew all the way around. Repeat this for both sleeves.

Adding the pockets.

Lay flat 2 rows up from the bottom. Center of the front panels. Using your tapestry needle and piece of yarn.  Start from the left side and sew all the way around to the right side leaving the top open. Do this on both panels. You are now finished with your Cardigan.

I really hope you enjoyed making your kids pocket cardigan.
