Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice-(Weight 4/medium-170yds, 156gm) (Please see the notes section on the colorway.)
5 mm (H) Hook (or hook to obtain the gauge)
Tapestry Needle
Hair ties

 

Abbreviations:


Ch(s)= Chain(s)


St(s)= Stitch(es)


Dc= Double Crochet


Sc= Single Crochet

Sk= Skip

Bl= Back loop

SLST= Slip Stich
Fo=Fasten Off

Bo= Bobble (please see note section on the explanation)

Revsc= Reverse Single Crochet (Please see note section on the explanation)

 

Notes:

Color A: Main color- Oatmeal

Color B: Accent color- Toffee

Special stitch: the bobbles for this hat are 6-dc bobbles. Meaning you will be working 6 partial dc’s before you complete the bobble stitch. Below is a description of the bobble stitch.


bo: yo, insert hook into stitch, draw loop back through, yo, draw through first two loops on your hook, *yo, insert hook into the same stitch, draw loop back through, yo, draw through first two loops on your hook], repeat from * 4 more times, you will end up with 7 loops on your hook, yo, and pull through all 7 loops and ch 1 to complete the bobble stitch. {Note the ch 1 space that finishes the bobble st dose not count as a stitch.}

Revsc: A reverse single crochet is worked just like a normal sc but its worked to the right of your hook.

Pattern:


Round 1:{Color A}  Attach your yarn to the hair tie or (ch 22 slst together creating a circle and ch 1) 40 sc around the band or (40 sc around the ch) slst ch 1. (40)

Round 2: {Color A} Hdc in each st around. Slst ch 1. (40)

Round 3: {Color A} Hdc in the next 4 sts. 2 hdc in the next st. Repeat around. Slst ch 1. (48)

Round 4: {Color A} Sc in the next 5 sts, 2 sc in the next st. Repeat around. Slst ch 2. (56)

Round 5: {Color A} Dc in the first st, {Color B} bo in the next st, *{Color A} dc in the next 2 sts, {ColorB} bo in the next st. Repeat from * this round will end with a bo. Slst ch1. (56)

Round 6: {Color A} sc in the next 6 sts, 2 sc in the next st. Repeat around slst ch 1. (64)

Round 7: {Color A} hdc in the next 7 sts, 2 hdc in the next. Repeat around slst ch 1. (72)

Round 8: {Color A} hdc in the bl in each st around. Slst ch 1. (72)

Round 9: {Color A} sc in the bl in each sts around. Slst ch 2.( 72)

Round 10: {Color A} Dc in the first st, {Color B} bo in the next st, *{Color A} dc in the next 2 sts, {Color B} bo in the next st. Repeat from * ending with 2 dc. Slst ch 1.(72)

Round 11: {Color A} sc in each st around. Slst ch 1. (72)

Round 12: {Color A} hdc in each st around. Slst ch1. (72)

Round 13: {Color A} hdc in the bl in each st around. Slst ch 1. (72)

Round 14: {Color A} sc in the bl in each sts around. Slst ch 2.( 72)

Round 15: {Color A} Dc in the first st, {Color B} bo in the next st, *{Color A} dc in the next 2 sts, {Color B} bo in the next st. Repeat from * ending with 2 dc. Slst ch 1.(72)
